In July 2002 the 5th Conference of the European Society for Oceanists will take place in Vienna, the capital city of Austria/Europe. My name is Margit Wolfsberger and I am the conference secretary. Unfortunately I found out about you and the Japanese Society for Oceanic Studies just recently and therefore would like to draw your attention first at our conference homepage.
Here you could find an overview about the programme, the list of paper contributors and all relevant information around the conference and the city of Vienna.
We ask you for your support in spreading this information among your colleagues and members of the Society in Japan. Although we have already closed the procedure for offers of paper presentation the coming week is a last chance to be included in the programme. As this comes probably out of the blue and all of a sudden for preparing a paper we are inviting very warmly all interested oceanists of various fields to join the conference as observers and to contribute in discussions and informal meetings. You could registrate via our homepage (see under "Registration").
