2018年度　日本オセアニア学会　第２回関東地区研究例会のお知らせ

関東地区研究例会幹事の倉光ミナ子＠お茶の水女子大学です。本年度、第２回目の関東地区研究例会のお知らせです。

第２回関東地区研究例会では、桑原牧子会員（金城学院大学）と山内由理子会員（東京外国語大学）をお迎えし、お二人が現在取り組んでおられる研究についてご報告いただきます。

●報告概要
　・第１発表：桑原牧子会員（金城学院大学）
　　演題「希望と不安―核実験後のツアモツ諸島ハオ環礁における養魚場プロジェクト―」
　　発表内容：フランスの核実験実施時に前進基地であった仏領ポリネシアのツアモツ諸島ハオ環礁では、現在、中国資本の養魚場プロジェクトが進む。ハオ環礁の住民は、フランス軍駐屯時の経済に代わり、多くの雇用を生む産業になり得ると、養魚場プロジェクトに期待を寄せる。他方で、餌料による海洋汚染を危ぶみ、さらに、養魚場が住民の小島や漁場へのアクセスを阻むことで、生業であるコプラ生産や漁業がこれまで通りには行えなくなるのではないかと危惧する。本発表では、核実験時代を引き合いに出しながらの、ハオ環礁住民の養魚場プロジェクトへの関与と思惑を報告する。

　　・第２発表：山内由理子会員（東京外国語大学）
　　　演題「エスニックグループの混淆の町でーオーストラリア北西部の町ブルームの日本人移民とその子孫」
　　　発表内容：オーストラリア北西部の町ブルームには、1880年代から1960年代に渡り、真珠貝採取業の労働力として日本人移民が流入した。現在残る彼らの子孫は殆どが先住民を含む現地の人々とのミックスである。本発表では日本人移民やその子孫の人々の食に関する語りと実践を中心に、彼らのエスニシティに関わるアイデンティティとブルームという場の絡み合いを探って行く。

Abstract:
The speaker will explore Māori engagement with Christianity in both a historical and contemporary context. The key focus of this lecture is to explore the varying degrees of power afforded to or removed from Māori women. The lecture will also examine the significant barriers to retaining mana (authority) and tino rangatiratanga (self-determination) in a historically patriarchal, conservative, church environment. Te Haahi Weteriana o Aotearoa (The Methodist Church of New Zealand) has a long history of campaigning for gender equality, pay parity and was at the heart of the Suffrage movement in Aotearoa. This year Aotearoa has celebrated 125 years of Suffrage and as a result the church has begun to take stock of where we have arrived, in the ordination of women and in the appointment of women to leadership positions within the church. This lecture will highlight the key findings of our self-evaluation and the place and position of Māori women in church and society.
